Art can be a messy process and clean up can take as long as the actual project itself, but with Sketch it cleanup is a not an issue as we provide you with 10 stickable placemats. All you need to do it peel and throw away after class. While we will have a couple paint projects each year, most will be done with colored pencils and pen so you won’t have to be cleaning brushes and wearing a smock.
We recognize that most parents don’t keep on hand all the supplies that you will need so we take that burden off your shoulders by sending you a welcome box full of almost all the supplies you will need. Paper and colored pencils are the only supplies you will need that are not included in our welcome box and, if you don’t have those we give you the Amazon links to purchase them.
Most people, adults included, think they just aren’t any good at art, so they just don’t even try. But Sketch it utilizes a unique step-by-step approach that breaks down complex projects into bite size pieces and then we put it all together at the end. Once a member you have access to all the classes we offer for the grade level purchased and we update our site with new projects each month. While Sketch it is a monthly subscription service, you are not locked in to a contract and can cancel at anytime.
Robin Joyce, the founder of Sketch it, has been an art teacher for over 12 years teaching at several different schools, both private and public. At 2 of these schools she created the art curriculum for the school and also hold a masters degree in differentiated instruction from Concordia University. The Sketch it methodology is the exact same process she was used with hundreds of children over more than a decade with fantastic results. She loves teaching and especially enjoys seeing a child that “gets” art after thinking the project looked impossible. As a former competitive equestrian, Robin still enjoys riding horses as well as watching the Denver Broncos and bring with her husband and 2 boys.
